Guidelines of a Vampires

Ϡ This is not Twilight, so, vampires do not sparkle
Ϡ Vampires have fangs, occasional crimson eyes, pale skin
Ϡ [6/1/12] Vampires don't necessarily live forever, but do live much longer than a regular human. An example of an elder vampire is between 800-1100 years old. Please don't make your vampire older than this age. If you have made your character before this rule was put into place then don't worry, you are fine.
Ϡ Sunlight is deadly to them. They will not die from it in a single instant however it takes a little longer. For instance a newborn - full fledged vampires may last a minute or so while much older vampires, or elders, may be able to withstand it for several minutes. When hit by sunlight their skins burns almost like getting sun burn. It would feel as if they 'were' on fire before turning to ash.
Ϡ Other ways to kill a vampire: stake through the heart, cutting off their head, and burning them.
Ϡ Vampires have heightened senses, speed, and strength. Other than that they don't really have any special powers.
Ϡ Exception for above rule is for much older vampires (who 'might' gain powers of telepathy) and the Lords (who will have telepathy and mind control). Just to gain this power I do not want every single person making such an older vampire. The Lords are some if not the strongest vampires around so their power may seem along the lines of god-mod. If you use the powers make sure it's OK with the other people.
Ϡ If a vampire is to turn a human their must be a blood exchange between the two.
Ϡ Garlic, holy water, and crosses don't do anything.
Ϡ They do not shape-shift into bats or any other creatures.
Ϡ Many tend to abide by old traditions (not everyone has to do so usually the younger vampires do not if is their choice however)
Ϡ Vampires have the choice whether or not to sleep in coffins (yes they have them)
Ϡ Vampires do not have reflections.
Ϡ Must be invited in before entering a house/home
Coven Laws
Ϡ The orders of Lords are Law and must be obeyed/carried out.
Ϡ Humans are to not know of vampires existence.
Ϡ If a human should discover their existence and their race is threatened in some way the human must be silenced. (This can be done by simply killing them though the Lords have the power to erase/block memories - mind control)
Ϡ The blooding of young human children is forbidden.
Ϡ That no vampire kill their brethren unless given specific order from the Lords
Ϡ Those that gain special advance powers that are not Lords are to not use them without appropriate reasons.
Ϡ Hunts must be inconspicuous and the remains disposed of.
Ϡ Newborns are to be watched over by their master’s unless ties between the two are broken.
Ϡ Newborn vampires must be trained before they can be released on their own.
Ϡ Mingling with the children of the moon is forbidden unless it is to kill them.
Ϡ That no child carrying vampire blood be birthed into the world.
